Fashion Friday...

FASHION FRIDAY

Today's Look:
Dress: Ghita
Shoes: Mui Mui
Coat: Vintage
Stockings: American Apparel
Heart Necklace: Forever 21
Gift: Sak's Fifth Avenue
Bow: Satin Ribbon

It's only fitting that in light of Christmas Eve  I would do a little holiday FASHION FRIDAY ...  I love that this Christmas Eve falls on my second installment of FASHION FRIDAY..  a holiday of giving....Yay!!!

Okay first  things first:

I have new hair.. The beautiful and talented Shaylee at Salon NINE ZERO ONE gave me the most beautiful caramel/blonde color.. It's been two days now and I love it more and more everyday.. I love the way the caramel, blonde and my natural color swirl together..

Email me directly for Shaylee's info..she's the best for real!!

Okay now for today's look..

Inspiration is obviously Christmas..but really its happiness..  I pulled out three of my favorites..

This Ghita dress is the perfect take on the Little Black Dress... It's sexy..fun..it feels like butter...and best of all has ruffles.. It was given to me by a dear friend..so I always wear it with love..

I've owned this toasty faux fur sheep coat for about 7 years.. I saw it at the Fairfax Flea market and had to have it.. I just love the vintage gold buttons.. It has a wonderful thick satin lining and I love that the sleeves hit me between my wrist and elbow.  It has no label and almost looks like whoever it belonged to before me actually made it themselves..or had it made..That makes it super special...

Ahh the Mui Mui Shoes..  I don't wear them a lot because they are such a beautiful work of art...and I feel like a princess every time I wear them.    Being that I am super rough on my footwear these only come out of the box on special occasions.. this being one :)

Now I know you lovely "Likers" are looking at this red bow on my head and saying huh?  I stole it right of of a Christmas Gift that was sitting in my living room.. Don't worry ..the present is still in tact .. unopened....just missing a bow...  I think its the perfect addition to my holiday outfit..  Bright..cheerful..and fun..

My motto..never take yourself too seriously..  Wrap a Big Satin Bow around you for Christmas.. Wrist...Neck...Ankle...Finger...Head ...it all works!

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas !!!....  I "Like"

Music to my ears

4 days left...

What a little Gem..

Recycled..

DYI..

Tiny..

Super awesome...

Sunday morning was a morning of rain and work.  Sunday afternoon was an afternoon of more rain and recovery..

Recovery meaning..a little shopping..a little 8 ounce Burger Bar and a little Urban Outfitters..

And this is where I met the DYI RECYCLED PLASTIC SPEAKERS..

The perfect little $16 dollar gift.

Most nights as I drift off to sleep I drift to music blaring from my iPhone 4 speakers.

Not anymore..

These little plastic boxed speakers are Universally compatible with iPod, MP3 and CD players

...and..Designed to be earth friendly..up to 80% recycled materials used

...and yes I just stole the last two sentences straight off the box...

Oh and best of all they come with four permanent markers for you to make them your own..

Hello Friday..

So over the last few months I have been asked why I don't blog about Stuff I Wear.. I am an avid lover of clothes, fashion and all thing related.

Thus I have decided introduce FASHION FRIDAY to my blog..it went a little something like this

..."Stuff She Likes, meet Fashion Friday"..."Fashion Friday, Meet Stuff She Likes".

I am a firm believer that what you wear is an expression of what is going on with you the very moment you put your outfit on.. For me I don't really have a particular style.. My style changes day to day with my energy.. one day I may rock a ripped up pair of tights and denim shorts and the next I may rock a frilly lace shift dress.

There are three policies I do commit to...

1. THE COMFORT FACTOR:  I don't care if your shoes cost $10 dollars or $1000..if those pair of sky high amazing 5 inch stiletto, platform leather heels  "hurt" at the boutique..best believe that they will "kill" by the middle of the night.. and I will not buy them.  I have passed up some pretty amazing shoes due to The Comfort Factor.

3. THE SALE FACTOR:  I am also an avid believer in a great sale.  If you love that $500 dollar dress at Barney's chances are if you wait a month or two it will be half the price..

2. THE CHEAPNESS FACTOR:   If it looks cheap in any way..leave it at the store!!  You can build an amazing wardrobe on a tiny budget just by following this simple rule..

FASHION FRIDAY is  about mixing the STUFF I have with the STUFF I get.
SO you will definitely see repeat items worn different ways..

Now being the non perfected perfectionist that I am...I very well cannot photograph myself the way I really want to..So the photo's of FASHION FRIDAY will be a collaborative effort between myself and my good friend and fellow photog Jason Maddox.  His work is AMAZING!!

I hope that FASHION FRIDAY gives you inspiration for your outfits to come..

Deliverd straight to your door..Who's cooking??

All meals above are shown exactly how they arrived at my door...I did not pretty them up folks!!

10 days left...

Zen Foods..

We are all super busy and I for one hardly have time to snack..let alone cook an entire meal for myself everyday.

This is where Zen Foods comes in..

For $47.95 a day..you get Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, a Snack and Dessert delivered fresh to your front door.  Every meal is individually packed, labeled, stored into a cute little cooler bag and dropped at your door step somewhere between the hours of 6pm and 6am. You know the excitement when you get home and there is a UPS box just sitting at your door waiting for you..yeah same feeling when there is a cooler full of yummy food waiting for you..

Okay now that the logistics are out of the way..Lets talk about the most important factor..Hello!!  THE FOOD..

I had 7 days of breakfast, lunch and dinner that I decided to photographically document because as wordy as I can sometimes get..nothing does justice to amazingness like a photo..So before you read this just take a moment to actually look at the pictures above..

I'll wait...

...........waiting..

.....................waiting....

..............................Waaaiitting...

Yes I know ..I just made you hungry right!!

I have to say that I honestly did not know what to expect..I was a little scurred (yes I said scurred)..food delivered?..breakfast lunch and dinner...? Really?  How good can it be?

Ummm...

Please let me explain to you how every single meal that was delivered to my door was super duper delicious...  I actually forgot what it was like to eat three solid meals a day...three solid tasty meals a day. It got to the point where I would take the last bite of one meal and already be looking forward to the next..

Perfect portions...perfect flavors..the meals are a consummate combination of home cooked and chef prepared.

And now a list of my favorites

Chocolate Mousse (OMG!!)
Cinnamon French toast w/maple Ricotta Cream and Chicken apple Sausage
Filet Mignon w/Charred eggplant 7 toasted Cauliflower
Flax seed Tortilla Crusted Orange Roughy w/ Herb Quinoa & Green Beans
Thai Beef Sate
Honey Mustard Glazed Salmon w/quinoa and baked Acorn Squash
Bruschetta w/figs and Goat Cheese
Sour Cream Coffee Cake w/a Side of Greek Yogurt
Colorful Cheese Scramble
Asian Shrimp Stir Fry w/Brown Rice
Turkey Chili w/ side salad
Turkey Burger w/ sliced tomatoes
Chicken Cobb Salad
Dark Chocolate Chunk Cookie

..and those were just my favorites...

Did I mention that these meals are nutritionally balanced for your needs, perfectly proportioned for optimum caloric intake, organic (when available) and diabetic friendly..

They have a sports program, a diet program, a diabetic program and a just plain I don't feel like cooking program (that would be the classic plan).

Oh and when I toured the facilities..I had what might be one of the best dark chocolate chuck cookies that I have ever tasted!!  Uggg I sooo want one right this second..

You can buy packages anywhere from 5 days to 90 days...

..And coming soon they have family plans..Dinner and Dessert..starting at $29.95.

Zen Foods is a family owned and operated business..which means everyone there is hands on..

What a perfect gift!
