Spring Cleaning... Make Up Style ♥

Once a year I do a bit of Spring cleaning.. and my Make-Up is usually the first to get a cleansing.. 

As much as we spend on make up a year.. the awesome lip glosses.. foundations.. new super products.. concealers.. mascaras etc.. anything that is not a powder has an expiration...And that expiration is usually about one year.  Ever go to apply that stunning gloss you forgot you had and it smelled kind of like a science experiment gone wrong?  First indicator that it needs to go..Here's how it works..the bacteria on your face gets in with the liquid make up and basically starts a little party..and not a good one.. 

So this is how I do it...

I start by dumping all my make up onto a towel on the floor and one by one I put it all back ..throwing away anything that smells strange..looks strange...or was just a plain wrong purchase.

So if you follow me on twitter or instagram HERE you all know that I was Spring Cleaning pretty much the entire weekend.  This meant the dreaded but much needed annual purging of the closet.  Literally taking everything out and then putting everything back..picking and choosing of course what to keep and what to let go of.  It's a great way to actually see your wardrobe.. So many pieces that I had totally forgotten about.  It also gives you a great idea of what you don't have..which is exactly what happened.  

I have been lusting after the Isabel Marant Tie-Dye jeans (see here)..but at $420 a pop..that was never going to happen.. You know how I feel about spending obscene amounts of money on trendy items..DON'T DO IT..

Then I saw the much lower priced JBrands.. at $198.. not too bad but still...

Then low and behold, in the midst of spring cleaning I came across my favorite pair of JBrand high waist black skinnies. About 9 months ago I tossed them (with furry) into the back of the closet.  Lets face it ..black jeans really only have about a one year shelf life before they become an awful shade of grey.  So I thought to myself.. "Self..why the hell not".. (actual thought verbatim)..

..And the Taye-Dye project commenced.

At $145 bucks this little three step kit is not only a steal.. (I have paid up to $175 for peels in a spa)..This kit works. 

But rest assured I am not telling you this from sheer naivete´

Anyhow..needless to say .. I was inspired.. and since running home and thrashing through my closet to emulate what he had on for myself seemed a bit rash.. after all I am a girl..I thought it was time for another

Every now and then I do a sweep of my grandmothers closet.  Not the closet with the current clothe she is wearing now.. but the closet way upstairs tucked away with all the awesome finds of her past..  This skirt came from a Taye-Raid that took place about two years ago. I rarely wear it because I NEVER want to spill anything on it, which is exactly what I did  the day I shot this.  Ugh!

There is something about throwing an outfit together that just might not make since that makes complete since.  

The day I wore this outfit I was not anywhere near a pool, an ocean, a tanning salon or a park.. Yet a bikini top just seamed to be the right choice.

Yesterday after a full day complete with walking pups.. training session at the gym... a sense memory class..Gluten free raw vegan lunch at Cafe Gratitude.. followed by a gluten free doughnut from Baby Cakes ...I mosied on down to the beautiful Four Seasons, Beverly Hills to preview the new and vintage collections from Movado.. and this is what I saw...

The Ebel Collection was my favorite of all the contemporary watches. Leave it to me to go straight to the Rose Gold Diamond clad 20 something thousand dollar beauties in the room.. So yummy!

They met at the Met..

 Overall I thought the night was pretty tame.
