Writing about shooting all the new stuff at runway shows and presentations has to be one of my favorite perks as both a photographer and blogger. Especially when the show is great.. and The L.A. Fashion Week Naven show was just that!! GREAT. It was one of those rare experiences where I found myself perched up against all the male photographers (see collage below third row to the left)..in my awesome Naven dress (thanks ladies) gift bag between my shins shooting every look that strolled down the runway. Every time I went to rest my camera for a moment.. the next look would fly down the runway and force me to point and shoot. Here's what I have to say about the line and the ladies behind the line. When it comes to clothes, the NAVEN twins know how to do two things really well.
Being that I was a bit under the weather yesterday Okay that's slightly a curve off the truth..the truth is I totally forgot that yesterday was Monday and that today would be Tuesday. Thus I completely forgot to shoot for OUTFIT TUESDAY!! PHEW..there I got it out.. I feel so much better.. Anyhow .. instead of scrambling and shooting this morning.. I thought I would put together a few Fall/Winter items that we here in L.A. currently still have no use for but are dying to wear..
Those awesome wardrobe items that keep you oh so warm when the weather get's frosty.
I thought I would pair up them up with some bags that are on my wish list and share..because after all..
SHARING IS CARING
..and sharing a cozy sweater that you adore is just plain rad..
So there you have it..chunky.. patterned.. colorful and muted are all on my "I really really want" list for fall and winter.. What's on yours?
How does one blog effectively post about a place they have been a regular customer at for the last 6 years..
They just say YES!
When I got the call to have a Stuff She Likes tasting at M Cafe I was again all gitty.. Just as I was gitty about my lunch at Neiman Marcus.. It seems like my favorites are seeking me out.. I feel so honored.. I have only great great things to say about M Cafe. It's a place that many people seem to think is some kind of strange earthy, meditation, brown rice, green leaf only type of place. Well I am here to tell you
This blog post was a long time in the making... so many what I like to call internet gremlins were hard at work to stop it... Even the beautiful photo's that I took of all the amazing food suddenly disappeared from my Hard Drive. Soleto was kind enough to let me use theirs. But as I have very securely stated to Soleto .. This post will prevail!!! Okay let's get to it.. About two months ago
I have to start this post by stating.. which most of you probably already know.. that I was born and raised in Los Angeles. From what I am learning from my friends who are not from Los Angeles.. It's a bit of a different up bringing..
For those of us from L.A., weekly sightings of celebrities, seeing the Hollywood Sign, Ran ban wearing convertible driving men in their 60's and organic food restaurants were and are pretty much the status quo.
What those of us that are from here are completely foreign to
Not just your average gut busters.. I have been dying to write this post since New York Fashion Week. NYFW is always a blast and the gifting/style lounges are a huge fun factor. I had a chance to stop by the Spanx suite and check out all the new styles and I must say..
I'm sitting here this morning sipping my almond milk latte and reminiscing about a wonderful little lunch at a killer not so little restaurant that resides in a little area of Los Angeles called Westwood. And as I sip my latte in hopes of getting a much needed caffeine charge for the day I can't help but to become really really hungry... Take a scroll down and you will most likely feel the same way..
A week or so ago I had the opportunity to sit down and have lunch with the executive Chef of Napa Valley Grille Taylor Boudreaux and in between the laughs and sips of my champagne cocktail we chatted about everything from Louisiana to Cajun vs Creole to Brussels sprouts to Old Bay.
note: for those who don't know what Old Bay is.. it's a very creole seasoning pretty much used by any Cajun or Creole person alive.
Black Figs and Prosciutto
Sweet Corn Agnolotti
Okay back to the lunch. Chef Taylor started us off on
So as of last week.. I am super behind on so many posts.. that this week may turn out to be a cluster F**K of Stuff She Likes.. and I mean that in a good way. So let's being... The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.. Lets just call it The Yummy and the Yummier! A couple weekends ago I was invited down to check out their Trade Up Your Cup give away event. You may remember my pre-post about it HERE.
