Winter Shopping...

I have never really been a person who scurried out on Black Friday to grab everything I can possibly find.. In fact I believe last year was the first year I ventured out of the house on Black Friday to actually look at clothes and I was in utter disappointment.  So this year I decided to sit Black Friday out and head out on what I like to call Happy Saturday.

I know I know.. You are thinking  what exactly is the difference?  Well.. It's Saturday :)   

Anyhow.. all that is to say.. I ventured out on a Saturday and returned with treasures...

That I will now share with you.

I have to tell you .. There was an abundance of amazing deals everywhere I turned.. Coats..Shoes..Sweaters..Bags..  I was like a little girl in that American Girl Place.. (which until I am a mother will probably never understand).  I wanted it all.. I narrowed it down to this..

Picture this.. two very adult bloggers six rows from the stage surrounded by 18,000 screaming teenage girls simultaneously singing every word of every song as they watched one of the most popular K-Pop bands light up the stage with amazing music and super cool dance moves..  

That was the scene last week when I grabbed my girl Nikia Pheonix from her Saturday evening to attended the Big Bang Alive concert at the Honda Center presented by The Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Until two weeks ago I was not entirely familiar with the world of menswear.   With so much women's wear to attend to how could I?..  Then I received an invitation that would crack my door to menswear..  Actually more like bust it wide open.

 Not only did I get a chance to attend the exclusive L.A. Premiere of his documentary A Mans Story in the Beverly hills theater at WME (who also happen to be my hosting agents).  Not only did I get to attend a private dinner for Ozawald at Mr. Chow directly following the premiere.. Invited by oscar winner Jamie Foxx might I add.  Following in the steps of my sit down with Charlotte Olympia... I  got a little one on one time with Ozwald for a Stuff She Likes chat.

The Art of Shoes.. An interview with Charlotte Olympia

If I had a list of people I would die to interview... Wait...Actually I do.  Allow me to start over...

I have a list of people that I find simply amazing that I would die to interview.  I am proud to say that I can now check one lovely lady off that list.  When I received an email asking if I wanted to to interview the brilliant shoe designer Charlotte Olympia my first thought was "are they really asking?"  Honestly I could have been commanded and tourrured and I would not have thought twice about it.   

YES! YES! YES!

I would die to interview Charlotte Olympia!  Although I do not yet own a pair of her whimsical, sexy, statement yet classic shoes.  I lust after every pair I see. 

Charlotte Olympia is amongst the few designers in this world that can really do no wrong.  With her very distinct point of view and no apologies for it, in just a few short years her brand has become the go to for fashion standouts, celebrities and even the ladies who lunch. 

I arrived at the Mariposa restaurant at Neiman Marcus expecting a press junket full of bloggers, magazine editors and such... And stepped off the escalator to find that it was just me and Charlotte..  Again I die...  

Now being that we were not able to film.  I planned to transcribe the interview the old fashion way.  But then one quiet night a week or so ago I was listening to a 1959 interview of Lorraine Hansberry by Mike Wallace and I got an idea.  Why not let you hear the interview.  So here it is.. a little choppy but none the less.. The voice, words and  ideas of the amazing Charlotte Olympia..  

note:  I attempted to condense this interview as much as possible..I got the 30 something minute interview down to 11...enjoy.
