Summer Heat is starting to get really intense.. don't get me wrong Summer has always been intense in the best way possible but this year and this month Summer is hot! Hot sunny and humid or hot, sunny and dry.. all depending on where you are.
Ahhh.. Finally my Internet is back on.. Hence why I did not post yesterday.. Myself and Internet/cable company who shall remain nameless had it out over the phone yesterday around 7am.. Believe it or not.. I'm super nice up to a point and then I get gangster. Okay so I am frantically writing this now because I have an appointment shortly.
So here goes..
TGIF... Yay.. I just love typing those letters. It's been a long wonderful week. Took out my braids, made some new friends, soaked up the California sun, worked my butt off... You know.. the usual. So I thought why not end the week with a little shoulder bespoke gown.
Beach days are a serious priority during the beautiful summer months. Yet with the fun in the sun comes dry skin, wrinkles and sun damage. Ahh the give and take of life! But lucky for us.. we can take some of the "TAKE" out of that give and take. Protecting the delicate skin on your one and only face is a must.
When you think of summer.. All black everything does not generally come to mind. I'd say that summers have a claim on the pinks, pastels, neutrals and bright jewel tones. Yet lately I find myself wearing all black. Don't get me wrong.. A am still coveting neutrals, but black is super chic for summer.
Hurray for Friday. I was actually suppose to be in NYC this weekend but due to unforeseen circumstances I am still here in Sunny California and super excited for the weekend of activities and events ahead.
Allow me to get sidetracked for just a couple sentences here. I have to say I was a bit bummed when I realized I would not be able to head to New York yesterday. I was like okay.. why.. but okay. Then the universe put a sign right in front of my face. Literally. I woke up yesterday when I would have been on the plane headed eastbound and I was looking through Instagram when I came across a good friends post. .. And in plane sight it read..
This is by far one of my favorite outfits of year so far. Simply because it's so very opposite of what I generally like to wear. Don't me wrong.. My style does flow with my mood, but that flow generally moves in the direction of pants, shorts, rompers, trouser, blazers... you get the idea!
TGIF! whoo hoo.. after the long weekend last weekend this week seemed to be stacked full of work... which don't get me wrong I absolutely love.. but it's the freakin' weekend baby and this one promises to be fun. The fun started last night with the Teen Vogue Kick off party for Beauty Con weekend.
There are some days where a craving simply takes over. Concentration is at a minimum and nothing you seem to eat can satisfy the urge you have for whatever it is your body wants. Now it's been a while since I was in Martha Vineyard..but the one thing that sticks out in my mind is the seafood. I am a lobster, crab, shrimp loving woman and when these foods are at their finest nothing can compare.
So when I kept hearing about Knuckle and Claw and their authentic Martha's Vineyard split top sandwiches and lobster rolls I had to go see first hand what the fuss was all about...
Let me start off by saying ..Yay for the long weekend (I'm literally doing a little dance). I for one love the 4th of July. Pool parties, BBQ, sun and lots of fun. It's kind of funny but for some reason it is one of those holidays where I can never seem to remember what I did the year before. No really.. I am sitting here trying my hardest to remember what I did last year and I can't. It's kind of the fun of it. It never gets old because...
Meyer Lemon Pancakes.. Strawberry Ricotta Toast.. Almond Lattes.. Morroccan Baked Eggs..Farro and Kale breakfast bowl.. How can you pass up brunch when it sounds like that!
Now before we begin this food post, let me remind you all how much I ridiculously love brunch. I am a firm believer that eating deliciously crafted food amongst friends on a Saturday or Sunday morning is a perfect beginning to creating the recipe for the perfect day. Which leads me to a little place called Stir Market.
