Now I am not usually one to get all dolled up for Halloween.. Mostly because I am so last minute with pretty much everything.. But when my girl Sydne Summer asked me to channel my best Niki Minaj to stand next to her Beyonce to recreate the Feeling Myself Video looks for Halloween, how could I say no!
These are words that I live by when I want to put together a look and time is of the essence. You can never go wrong with Classics.. but Classics Reloaded. A sweatshirt always looks great paired with a classic leather skirt.. So I know what you are thinking..
I adore the idea of mixing pieces in my wardrobe that are not suppose to "make sense". Like faux leather in 90 degrees and a straw hat in the Fall.. and to top it all off a denim trench coat to cover it all up.
I for one am an eyebrow fanatic of sorts. If you follow me at all on Instagram or Snapchat.. you might have read or heard that I do not leave the house under any circumstances without filling in my brows. In fact the photo's you are about to see may be the first time that my bare brows have been exposed to the public.
I adore the concept of layering.. but layering without looking like a hot mess can often be a daunting task. Ever see those gals on the streets or in the magazines who have on about 5 layers of clothing but some how manage to make it look effortless. Well there is a method the madness. So let's explore how not to be a hot mess while jumping on the layer train.
I was combing through photo's on my computer yesterday when I came upon these photos and realized that I had not posted them. Yet the universe works as it should. How appropriate that I am wearing black and orange and it is now the month of Halloween. Ahh Fall colors.
How to wear black in 100 degree temps... lets revisit our little convo from my last post.. Sweltering heart in October. While the rest of the country is cooling down, we here in Los Angeles are majorly heating up with no apparent end in sight. I just looked at the weather App on my iphone.. lets just say today at 84 degrees will be amongst the coolest of the week. So what to do when you want to sort of dress for Fall but any type of layering is out if the question?
If you are anywhere near Los Angeles right now you are wondering where exactly Fall is. In fact we all are. With temperatures at 100 degrees I thought it only fitting to post a look from NYC when there was still sweltering heat on that coast.
Transitioning through the seasons is always such a fun time. I adore the idea changing over and exploring what the latest and greatest in clothes, food and beauty will be for the upcoming season. But with that fun comes a price tag. One thing you can't carry over from last fall are your beauty products..and that's why this time of year when the weather changes I never pass up a good sale to stock up on my faves and new discoveries.
I rarely go makeup free here on Stuff She Likes but when talking about the transitioning skincare from Summer to Fall, I thought it only appropriate.. ...and to help you transition into your fall beauty routine, from now through October 31st you can find more than 20 new and timeless favorites from NEUTROGENA®, AVEENO® and RoC® skin care lines available at your local Target – all in one place along with special discounts during certain weeks and I have teamed up with Target to share all the products that are on sale.
When the amazing team over at Who's Next invited me to come experience the two premiere fashion trade shows in Paris I was super gity. It had been years since I was in Paris. I was very eager to head back and what better way to go than with all kinds of new fashion. These are the days where I thank my lucky stars that I get to do what I do.
So you may be wondering what the heck Who's Next and Premiere Classe are..
