Last week was quite epic being that in Los Angeles the Oscars were here.. Thus this last NYFW post is going up a little late.

I have to preface this post with..  I WAS DARN COLD...   when we shot this look.. cold does not even begin to describe it.. wind and all.

So just as in every other look.. layering was a key factor.  No Skin.. just fingers and face saw the light of day.  Thus the express need to get uber creative.

How to make up your face in less than 10 minutes.. "Quick Face"

It's been a while since I did an easy quick make-up post...And since I basically live my life by everyday easy make up,  I thought it was time to give a few quick tips on how to put together what I like to call a "quick face".

I am never one to skip the base..  Your foundation is the canvas by which you build your look.. whether it's easy and quick or long and in depth.

Today we are chatting quick and easy.. but skipping the foundation of the look is not an option.  Luckily foundation is not a long process..

... and neither is the look from this photo.

So you are probably saying to yourself.. get to it already Taye..

So here goes

1. Using your finger or a brush and fill the entire eyelid with color to the crease.   Make sure to tap the color on so it's not too opaque.
2. Using a black or brown (depending on the color of your shadow) eyeliner pencil glide the pencil  along your lash line..
3. Add mascara..

Eyes are done.

Using Bronzer with a little shimmer apply with a brush along your contour line.. brush upward and disburse the color.  With the excess color on your brush.

Cheeks are done.
Apply a nude or sheer pink.

Lips Done.

Fill in your brows if needed
Brush your face with a little powder (optional)

I put together a list of some of my faves.. SHOP BELOW..

What are some of your make up secrets?

Quick face...

I rarely shoot in direct sunlight.. simply because it creates such harsh shadows on the subject being photographed.. But lately I have been craving change..  I mean who am I kidding.. I am a Gemini/Cancer..  I crave change on a daily basis.  But this day in particular we began to shoot in the sun and moved to the shade..

7 Questions & 7 Answers Everyone Should Know Before Getting a Piercing..

6 piercings.  That's how many my mom had in each ear when I was kid.. And I have to say that I was completely in awe.. I remember she had this set of beautiful tear drop shaped earrings that starred big at the first piercing and progressively got smaller as they ascended up her ear.

So it's no surprise that she pierced my ears herself and did it pretty early ..And I can remember it to this day like it was yesterday.  The day she pierced my ears, I was about 3 or 4 years old.  She had this little clamp like metal piercing contraption that resembled a hole puncher.  She handed me a Popsicle as to distract me and bam one click per ear and it was over.

I've been hooked ever since..

Cut to  (we won't discuss how many) years later.. And I am back at it.

.. And so many of you want to know all about it.. So I said to myself.. Self..  Why not share..
So I ask an LA piercer 7 quick and to the point questions. Things we all need to know...

Me: Mall piercings. Good or bad?
Piercer: Bad

Me:Three things you should never do once you get your piercing?
Piercer: Touch it, over clean it, get into a bar fight.

Me: What's the max number of piercings a person should get in one session?
Piercer: There is no max. Depends on your wallet, maturity and pain threshold.

Me: Do you only use the jewelry from your shop?
Piercer: No. If I think it's safe to put in your body I will pierce you with it.

Me: Never clean a piercing with...?
Piercer: Alcohol and/or your grandma's secret solution. (every body's grandma has one)

Me: Never get pierced with....?
Piercer: Cheap jewelry.

Me: How long does it take to heal before you can change the earring out?
Piercer: Generally 6 to 8 weeks. Patience is key.

Me: Any last comments?
Piercer:Remember there is no "right or wrong" way to decorate your ear.  Do what feels good to you!
Okay with that answered I have put together a list of studs and jewelry that I adore for those of you who are already pierced and those of you who are looking to get pierced and are healing beautifully.
