I have to admit that overalls can be a tricky thing. They either make you look uber cool or like an overgrown toddler. True Story... I wore these same overalls today on an 11 hour flight to Italy and was asked by the woman next to me if I was in college. Now part of me.. nope scratch that.. most of me was like yassssss.. I mean who doesn't want to be mistaken for college student when they've been well out of college for longer than they care to say? But the other small part was thinking that the last time I wore these (which happens to be this photoshoot) people were stopping to compliment my look..
Every now and then along with my neutrals, blacks, blues and greys I throw in a pop of color.. And what better color to pop than red. A bright orange red at that. This was my day 3 (I think) look at NYFW. The days are all starting to blend now. Easy and simple.. I felt like being super cool.. and I mean cool as in it was hot and ultra humid that day.. So super comfy was the name of the game! Nothing says comfy like your lower half in what can best be explained as an ode to pajamas...
Here is the great thing about heading to NYFW year after year.. You get to see and know everyone better each and every season.. and often you run into the same amazing street style photographers year after year.
Now I know what you may be thinking... That is a whole lot of pink for Taye Hansberry.. and believe me I was in shock myself when I saw these photo's because I did not realize that I actually was wearing pink head to toe.. But I am willing to admit when I am totally in love.. and this pink look had me from the start.
This was actually day 1 of NYFW for me.. and it stared with a bang..
Ahh Now that I am back from an intense and incredible week in New York for New York Fashion Week I can finally start posting my head to toe looks.. Starting with and in no particular order... Stripes on Stripes..
And now that you have done this again..and again..back to the post at hand..
Hey Hey Hey.. I can’t believe it’s that time again.. NYFW is here.. and you know what that means!!! The Bloglovin x H&M awards are here too.. Yay!
Although it’s been a couple months since I found out that I am a nominee and a couple months since that amazing day at the H&M NYC HQ with the one and only Leandra Medine AKA The Man Repeller.. who might I add is quite the opposite of “Man Repelling.. The woman is sizzling.. (hope she does not mind me saying so.. but I just had to point that out…)
It’s that time again folks.. Yep.. New York Fashion Week is here.. Along with all the fun, the shows, the no sleep and the lattes that come with it. Now if you have been an avid reader of Stuff She Likes you know that I’ve been attending Fashion Week for the last 4 years and you all have definitely taken that wild journey with me.
For me NYFW is not only the place where we get to see what’s next in fashion, but also what’s next in beauty.. and with beauty comes skincare. While admiring the flawless makeup on the models strutting the catwalks we often miss the fact that their skin under that make up is flawless as well. What do they do.. how do they do it?
I am making it my mission to find out. With that said I am super excited to announce that this year I am partnering with Artistry Skincarefor New York Fashion Week and for the U.S. launch of their Supreme LX Line to take you through my Fashion Week skin journey and to bring you live coverage from the amazingPamela Roland fashion week show to get a glimpse into how fashion and skincare go hand in hand..
And now that you have done this again..back to the post at hand..
So I found this shoot in the archives and could not believe that I had not posted it.. I wore this little gym of an outfit on my birthday a couple months ago and all day I could not help but to think about photos of my mom in the 70's and 80's when she dressed like this on a regular basis..
